This year's Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held as is usual within the ancient and splendid premises of Trinity House, London.

It was an excellent affair, capped by an outstanding address by the guest speaker, Admiral Sir Jonathon Band GCB ADC the First Sea lord and Chief of Naval Staff. Within 6 weeks of handing over to his successor at the end of a highly distinguished 42 year career in the Service of our great maritime country, we were indeed privileged and delighted that he found time in his exceptionally busy programme to deliver such a key note speech (which is included in this section for information).

The occasion was also most significant as the opportunity was taken to mark the retirement as a trustee and Chairman of the Board of Management of Captain George Miskin JP DL. After 24 years a Trustee, the past 18 of those as Chairman, Captain Miskin was duly thanked for his "magnificent innings", elected to be a Vice President and presented with a gift of a solid sterling silver goblet (made in London in the year of Trafalgar,1805) from the Society by our President the Rt Hon the Earl of Inchcape. A letter from our Patron, HRH the Princess Royal is also included here, along with Her Majesty the Queen's reply to our message of loyal greetings.
