Closure of the Society's Royal Alfred House in Eastbourne.
Although the closure of the Society's Royal Alfred House in Eastbourne was a difficult and sad decision to make, the funds yielded from its sale will enable us to invest in a new extension at Belvedere House and provide more capacity for modern accommodation set to meet the future needs of Seafarers. By doing so, the Society's financial commitments have been streamlined and a healthy future is forecast based on solid finances. In advance of more rooms, already planned is a lobby lounge extension to enable scope for our extensive programme of activities and social occasions to be developed even further!
